Billy Bush Has Officially Been Released by ‘Today’

TV journalist Billy Bush has been given the ax by the “Today” show.

In the wake of the release of a revealing and controversial tape of a conversation between Donald Trump and Bush, in which Trump detailed inappropriate behavior toward women, the newly hired "Today" host has been let go.

In a statement released today, NBC News Senior Vice President Noah Oppenheim said: "Billy Bush will be leaving the TODAY show’s 9am hour, effective today.

While he was a new member of the TODAY team, he was a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family.

We wish him success as he goes forward.”

Bush also released a statement saying, “I am deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends and colleagues.

I look forward to what lies ahead.”
